Financial Advisor Headshots and Team Photography: A UBS Wealth Management Session

I photographed the UBS Kreshpane Wealth Management Team, and the session shows what financial advisor headshots can look like when they are planned alongside a team portrait. Every advisor sat for an individual portrait, and then the whole group came together for team photographs. The two sets were created to work together across websites, bios, and professional profiles.

I have photographed professionals for more than 30 years, and this is the approach I recommend most to firms. If you are also considering professional team headshots, this session is a good picture of the result.

Professional Headshots for Financial Advisors

A client choosing an advisor is making a trust decision, and the first thing they see is a face. That is why I spend as much time on expression as on lighting.

Each advisor was photographed indoors, one at a time, in front of a plain light wall with tall office windows beside them. The greenery outside the glass stays soft and blurred, so the eye goes straight to the person.

Notice the small things. Shoulders turn a little away from the lens, the chin stays level, and the smiles are easy and unforced. Each advisor looks like someone you could sit down and talk money with.

What Good Financial Advisor Headshots Have in Common

The best financial advisor headshots feel steady and warm at the same time. The eyes are relaxed, the posture is open, and the clothing never competes with the face, which is why navy and charcoal worked so well across this team.

They also hold up at small sizes. An advisor’s photo may appear as a tiny thumbnail on a LinkedIn profile or a large image on a bio page, so the portrait has to read clearly in both.

Why Do Wealth Management Teams Need Group Photos?

Wealth management teams need group photos because clients hire people, not logos. A team portrait shows who stands behind the firm, which makes the website, brochures, and LinkedIn page feel more personal. It also gives the firm one strong image for announcements, recruiting, and press.

Individual portraits introduce each advisor. The group photo shows how they fit together, and that matters when a client will work with several people over the years. I covered a similar project in my corporate photography for financial teams case study.

Combining Individual Headshots and Team Photography

Shooting both in one visit is more efficient for the team, and it keeps the look cohesive. The portraits and the group frames come from the same session, so the tones, the clothing, and the energy match.

The individual portraits were made indoors. For the team photographs, we worked in several spots: a tree-lined walkway, the glass front of the building, and an open indoor lobby with deep blue seating.

Having both outdoor and indoor options gives the firm choices. A wide outdoor frame might lead the homepage, while an indoor lobby frame suits an About page or a brochure.

How Should Financial Advisors Prepare for Team Photos?

Financial advisors should prepare for team photos by agreeing on a shared color palette, picking one session window that works for everyone, and deciding in advance where the images will be used. Those three decisions shape the clothing, the schedule, and the framing, and they take most of the stress out of the day.

Coordinate Attire Without Matching Exactly

Choose a shared base color, then let each person add a little individuality. This team wore navy and dark suits, with small touches like a red tie or a bright blouse that kept the group from looking uniform.

Avoid busy patterns and small prints, which can distract in a group frame. If your team varies a lot in height, mention it ahead of time so I can arrange everyone to be fully visible.

Schedule Around the Whole Team

Pick a window when everyone can be there, and give each person a specific time for their individual portrait. A clear schedule keeps the day calm and the expressions relaxed.

Leave a little buffer for late arrivals and a quick mirror check. A rushed advisor tends to look rushed in the photo.

Decide Where the Images Will Live

Think about where the photos will go: the website, advisor bios, LinkedIn, print materials, press releases. Knowing that in advance helps me choose the right framing and leave room for cropping.

If a portrait will mostly appear as a small circular avatar, tell me. I will keep the face large and centered so it still reads at that size.
