Corporate Event Photography at The Pearl House NYC: Gensler’s Vision for Future Housing
I recently had the opportunity to photograph a remarkable corporate event hosted by Gensler at The Pearl House in downtown New York City. The panel, titled “Future Housing: New Typologies for a Changing New York,” brought together some of the most influential voices in real estate, development, and urban planning.
Held on a beautiful day with skyline views and a modern setting, the event was filled with energy, insightful discussions, and meaningful connections—exactly the kind of environment that makes for compelling and authentic event photos.
The event focused on the City of Yes zoning reforms and how they open the door for new residential development models across NYC. The panel included:
Photographing this type of event is all about anticipating the moments—capturing expressions of thought during the panel, candid interactions during networking, and details that tell the story of the day. Whether it’s the lighting on a panelist mid-sentence or a quick handshake between colleagues, those details make your event memorable.
From a beautifully curated grazing table to warm handshakes between industry leaders, my job is to document the vibe and energy of the event without being intrusive. The setting at The Pearl House, 160 Water Street, offered both indoor and outdoor backdrops that elevated the visual aesthetic.
This space was ideal for corporate photography: soft ambient light, sleek architecture, and a rooftop view that gave the entire event a polished, forward-thinking vibe. My goal was to capture the look and feel of that atmosphere while showcasing the professionalism of the speakers and guests.
My style of event photography is discreet but intentional. I shoot with fast, silent Sony mirrorless cameras and use natural light as often as possible to keep things authentic. When needed, I bring portable lighting to make sure indoor shots still look polished and professional without being disruptive.
Before every event, I coordinate with the organizers to understand the run-of-show, key attendees, and branding elements that need to be captured. At this event, that meant focusing on the speakers during the panel, the rooftop ambiance, and the natural conversations happening throughout the space.
I also delivered a short video highlight reel that pulled together the best moments—ideal for social media, recap emails, or investor communications.
Companies like Gensler know that quality photography isn’t just about pretty pictures—it’s about preserving impact and creating a library of visual content that can be used across multiple channels.

By having a skilled photographer on site, brands capture not just the content of the event, but the culture behind it.
Events like these aren’t just about what’s said—they’re about how it felt. As a corporate event photographer in NYC, I know how to blend into the background while still getting the hero shots that reflect your brand, your people, and your purpose.
High-quality images from your events help extend the impact of your efforts far beyond the room. Whether you’re building press kits, sharing on social media, or updating your internal communications, great event photography gives your company a long-lasting visual asset.
If you’re hosting a panel, brand launch, or leadership summit in New York or Northern New Jersey, I’d love to help you capture it. You can see more of my corporate event photography work here.
I make the process simple—just let me know what’s important to capture, and I’ll take care of the rest.
