I used Alex Kaplan’s photography for my May 2014 wedding– his colleague, Jackie, actually took the pictures, but that was because we didn’t reserve Alex himself. Jackie was a pleasure to work with, and extremely helpful to me (considering it was my first and only wedding 🙂 and I wasn’t sure what to do sometimes. She was very accommodating, as I made it known to her that I wanted to be a part of my wedding, that is, I wanted to be involved in the experience, and I did not want to have to my entire night devoted to photos. Jackie was amazing in her organization so that I could get excellent, memorable photos while leaving me free to greet and mingle with my guests, play wedding games, and take part in the dancing. She and my videographer worked really well, and I have to note that she was extremely professional and warm, at the same time. She was a joy to have working with us, and Alex made the process easier. We got married in Brooklyn, and we wanted to take pictures at a local state park. Because I am a worrier 🙂 I wanted to make sure we had our permit, so that no one could stop off from getting the perfect wedding photos! Alex was accommodating with his resources, so that we could get the appropriate permit (which required a rewrite in the photographer’s insurance policy).
His team is excellent, and I will be recommending him to others we know for their weddings. While he did not actually photograph our wedding, if Jackie is any indication of how Alex Kaplan’s company works, then any part of Alex’s team will do a fantastic job. I think much of that is owed to the understanding the photographer has regarding his or her role in the wedding, and how obtrusive they should be. In our case, we set our boundaries, and Alex and Jackie were great! I highly recommend their services.
